my heart

“these pure, kind, innocent, holy children are the heart of my father. the way they love and the way they welcome and the way they trust is nothing outside of divine. this is the very heart of Jesus–childlike. He wants us to love him like a child. it’s really not more complicated than that. this is why i do this. this is why i am here. because i am in the heart of Jesus and by welcoming these children, i am welcoming Him. and i want nothing more than to know His heart. i want to spend my life protecting and honoring and loving his children because this is what He would do. His heart yearns and breaks for the children in pain–and so does mine.”

this is an excerpt from one of my first blog posts in 2018 (click here). Haiti feels like home, and the Haitian people feel like my purpose. Jesus leads me back to Haiti, every time, and every time I am filled with peace. I have big dreams for my ministry, but my only plan is to humbly and prayerfully follow Jesus in this. I want to educate children, provide comfort for families, give people a safe space to praise the Lord, but mostly, I want to be where Jesus wants me.

So thank you! thank you for being here, thank you for caring. thank you for supporting me. thank you for reading about my heart, thank you for being willing to listen to what I have to say about Jesus in my life and in yours. thank you a thousand times over, and remember to “be joyful in hope, patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer.”
